I highly discourage these kinds of generalizations
This post is from ♥anetshop♥
THE FILIPINO DRIVER GREETING: When
greeting a Filipino driver, slowly lower your window and be Prepared to
greet the driver with, "Tang namo, bobo." However, if you have been
already addressed by a fellow driver, reply with a joyful, "Tang namo
rin, gago."
ON TURN SIGNALS: If a driver in another lane
turns on the turn signal, do not let him go into your lane. In fact,
press the accelerator and start driving right next to him/her. The
fellow driver will probably greet you and you already know what to do.
ON TRAFFIC LIGHTS: These
amusing artifacts hang from intersections for no apparent reason.
Sometimes you will see drivers stop to see the colors change on these
lights (a fascinating experience). Government officials (specifically
police) believe that each color stands for an instruction for drivers
to follow.
From pure observation I have determined the following instructions for each color: Yellow light - accelerate your car as much as possible. Red light - this light gives permission to the next five to six cars to go through. Green light - reduce speed and wait for the five to six cars passing through their respective red lights. Little-known-fact: Time to start honking your horn, as soon as the light turns green = 1.5 seconds.
ON CHANGING LANES: Changing
lanes has been elevated to an art form in the Philippines. First of
all, no matter what you do, never ever turn on your turn signal,
otherwise you'll stimulate the reaction described above. Second, swerve
your car uncontrollably to the lane you want to change, preferably if
you end up within inches of a car in that lane. At this point a
greeting from the other driver may be in order. To perfect your change
of lanes, reduce the speed of your car dramatically in a matter of
seconds and you will see an action-packed reaction from the car behind
you.
ON TRAFFIC JAMS: Traffic Jams are teeming with fun filled activities such as: Honking
your horn rhythmically. Putting on make-up (usually female drivers
only). Nose-pickers sightseeing (not to be confused with people who
scratch their brains through their nose). Reducing speed to watch
whatever is causing the traffic jam. Add excitement by trying to see if
you know the parties involved. (Note: Every Filipino driver is obliged
to do this.) Losing weight by sweating like a pig as a result of a lack
of airconditioning. Greeting other drivers. Practicing lane changing.
Playing the game: Let's see how close I can get to you before
rear-ending you.
ON PEDESTRIANS: These individuals are an
annoyance to the Filipino driver. If you see pedestrians in your way,
accelerate your car to let them know who's the boss. If you are at an
intersection, let the pedestrians know you want to proceed by
accelerating your car and honking at the last possible moment.
ON SOCIAL SITUATIONS: Bumping
into a friend while driving (not to be taken literally) is a joyful
occasion. Drivers should reduce speed and stop their cars in the middle
of the street and chit chat. What about other drivers? Well, they can
wait.
ON HIGHWAY DRIVING: Bottleneck Formation - To
accomplish this type of driving, cars must block all lanes by driving
at the same speed and side by side (to avoid other cars to pass). It is
important to drive at a speed at least 20 mph below the speed limit.
The
Three-Lane-Change - This movement requires a lot of precision and
creativity. It should be done around the highest number of cars
possible and in a matter of seconds to create what others may refer to
as widespread panic.
HERE'S ANOTHER RULE FOR DRIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES
When
the lanes going in your direction are jammed with cars, try using the
lanes from the oncoming traffic. They are probably not occupied anyway
because the oncoming cars are stuck as well. How many of the other
direction's lanes should you occupy? As long as there are lanes from
the other direction to occupy, go ahead and take more lanes.
This
move is sure to elicit previously mentioned greetings from drivers of
the oncoming cars (and some have been known to get down from their cars
to personally deliver the greeting to the out of lane driver). 9 out of
10 times it's sure to make the traffic worse but then, hey, there's
that 1 in 10 chance that you might actually get through sooner than all
those law-abiding losers. Filipino drivers think that that 1 in 10
chance is reason enough to risk their life and limb and being profusely
greeted (besides, you can always turn up the windows and pretend that
you don't hear the greeting from the other drivers).
note: you can repost, just dont forget to mention where you got it hihi.. thanks!!! -----------------------
 | it's
so sad that people actually endorse this kind of Filipino-bashing...
what kind of mindset is this? although some situations may be true and
sure they may be funny at first glance, but these are not laughing
matters. Generalizing such observations and packaging them as facts of
the Filipino life and culture is not appropriate.

Exams are brainchildren of Conspiracy
It's been a while since I last posted here. I'm really more updated in Multiply than here. Its easier I guess there. Especially that I've learned their CSS. ^_^
But anyhow, I'll update this once I have the time.
Like Now..
I'll be heading off for finals on the morning of May 24. I will not
like it one bit. I am so not prepared. I've had this nagging feeling
all day that I should have at least opened my notes and scanned through
them even a little... but, I just didn't. Its the feeling of having
done it before that kind of stopped me in my tracks. I just lost all
motivation to have a look at them damn scribbles on my notebook since
I've gone over them already.
Our professor said that exams are not a measure of one's worth.
Riiiiiiight... Tell that to my parents..
Better yet, tell that to my ego.
I've
been cooking up conspiracy theories up in my little mind about how
exams are really just a sort of chain binding people with endless
capacities--some sort of security check that you should not think
outside what is given to you. More like a dictation of what you should know and what you should never dare to learn.
These masterminds in a kind of educational faction brainstorm these
exams and distribute them in the guise of being "measures of knowledge"
when in fact, they are "prisons of knowledge". If test papers could
talk, they wouldn't say, "Hey, don't worry, I'm not a measure of your
being." In contrary, it feels like its telling you, "If you fail me
you're dumb and you have no right to move on to a higher level." That
sucks. It leaves you fresh out of self-esteem and harboring hatred
towards discovery, towards learning. It may even wipe off all reason
for you to pursue your thirst for knowledge.
Tests suck.
And
though I may speak out of sheer bitterness at four measly points shaven
off my academic standing, paving the road for me to take the finals, I
could not resist thinking that somehow, there's some truth hidden
behind my thoughts.
Or maybe, I really am just bitter.
*shrug*

SOCIAL DISTORTION LYRICS
"Don't Take Me For Granted"
I'm your worn in leather jacket
I'm the volume in your fucked up teenage band
A bag of smokes and a six pack
I'm the dreams you had walking down the railroad tracks
You and Me.
I'm your first taste of romance
I'm your first broken heart on a Saturday night
Guys like us ain't got no chance
But I'm the thing that keeps you and me alive
But not forever
[Chorus:]
So take me down the road
take me to the show
its something to believe in
that no one else knows
but don't take me granted
I'm the blood on your guitar
I'm that wave you caught back in 1975
I'm as strong as a thousand armies
I'm as soft as pedal on a long stem rose
I am love
[Chorus]
I'm with you when you're born
You can take me when you die
With all the reasons why
But don't take me for granted

You're better off without him, don't call him...
He's breaking your heart.
He's hanging with your best friend and your waiting there,
It's tearing you apart.
He lied to you a thousand times,
When I was there he kept you waiting.
And I'm still here waiting there
To catch you if you fall.
I don't know why I care so much
When I shouldn't care at all.
Finally got the nerve to tell you
How much you mean to me you said that I was your best friend,
A real sweet guy, but that's all I'd ever be.
[A Bronx Tale (Spoken)]
"Alright, listen to me. You pull up right where
she lives, right? Before you get outta the car, you
lock both doors. Then, get outta the car, you walk over
to her. You bring her over to the car. Dig out the key,
put it in the lock and open the door for her. Then you
let her get in. Then you close the door. Then you walk
around the back of the car and look through the rear
window. If she doesn't reach over and lift up that
button so that you can get in, dump her."
"Just like that?"
"Listen to me, kid. If she doesn't reach over and lift
up that button so that you can get in, that means she's
a selfish broad and all you're seeing is the tip of the
iceberg. You dump her and you dump her fast."
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
hindi halata, pero since I could not by any means download OPM from the
net and due to my lack of funds, nahiligan ko na ang mga foreign
alternative songs/bands (pero da best pa rin ang Pinoy! I'm getting the
latest album of Sugarfree soon! whee!).
When you have nothing to do at home and studying 24/7 is not really
something appealing to do in the summer, I guess it was inevitable to
rekindle my inner audiophile which has been in hibernation since god
knows when.
hmm.. I still have to review Bio 12.. heehee..

that's my dad's term for a leche flan gone wrong and we had a few of those this morning while we were making the syrup.
-..-.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-...-.-.-...-.
may exam ako sa monday and it seems as if i'm not bothered at all.
ganito ang feeling ko kapag prepared.
nanonood-nood na lang ng anime at kumakain ng leche flan. ^_^
i've never felt so educated before.
i never felt that i learned so much and actually RETAINED the stuff I
learned unlike now. grabe.. it's such a pleasant feeling. sana sa lec
exam ganito din ako. ^_^ kaso I suck at remembering the pyhla and
taxonomic classes.

sobrang
tagal na tong kantang ito sa playlist ko. and i've always liked
listening to Blink 182.. whee.. my favorite song from their 1997 album Dude Ranch.
Josie -Blink 182
Yeah, my girlfriend takes me home when I'm too drunk to drive
And she doesn't get all jealous when I hang out with the guys
She laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does
She brings me mexican food from Sombrero's just because
(Yeah, just because)
And my girlfriend likes U.L. and D.H.C.
And she's so smart and independent, I don't think she needs me
Quite half as much as I know I need her
I wonder why there's not another guy that she'd prefer
And when I feel like giving up
Like my world is falling down
I show up at 3am
She's still up watching Vacation, and I
See her pretty face
It takes me away to a better place and
(I know that everything [3x]) Everything's gonna be fine
(I know that everything [3x]) Everything's gonna be fine
Yeah, my girlfriend takes collect calls from the road
And it doesn't seem to matter that I'm lacking in the bulge
She laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does
She brings me mexican food from Sombrero's just because
And when I feel like giving up
Like my world is falling down
I show up at 3am
She's still up watching Vacation, and I
See her pretty face
It takes me away to a better place and
(I know that everything [3x]) Everything's gonna be fine

GRABE! ALL THAT FOR A MEASLY 2 HOUR SUBJECT!!
Ok, rant ito sa CRS na super galing kanina.
Disclaimer lang ano,
I actually think that this real-time enlistment is a good idea,
unfortunately, mali talaga yung timing ng implementation.
Here are why it's realy wrong timing: 1.
since it is just an 'experiment', it's not good to put so many people's
chances to get a subject on the line for it. kasi, testing pa lang
naman ito. 2. sa dinamidami ng mga tao na gustong mag-cancel/enlist, why oh why sa first day of summer reg pa? 3. bakit di na lang muna mag-test run ng capacity ng server before implementation? 4.
if you guys were like us, in the middle of all that chaos, you'll
understand. imagine waiting for hours just to get one or two subjects?
kamusta naman sa mga tulad ko na WALA TALAGANG NAKUHA NOONG REGULAR
RUN?? 5. and of course, wala man lang PLAN B? kasi sana man lang hindi inasa sa online enlistment at may manual enlistment pa rin.
hmmm...
i really think this real-time thing is a good idea kasi in theory, it
makes enlisting easier for the students. pero i think na dapat munang
i-consider yung capacity ng site. tsaka, i think it would have been
better kung sa start pa lang ng summer enlistment ganito na. kasi in
theory, once the students already got their desired subjects, hindi na
sila babalik sa site to check if they got it kasi nga, instant na. pero
siyempre, first come first served pa rin.
ewan... sobrang daming tao ang naabala kanina. sobrang daming napikon. it was UP's ULTIMATE TEST OF PATIENCE.
bad move for the crs team or whoever is in charge of approving this system. good idea, wrong timing, wrong implementation.

napansin kong panahon ngayon ng pagninilay-nilay. ^_^ hehe wala na
kasing sagabal sa pag-iisip ng mga bagay na kailangan nating pag-isipan
for psychological health purposes.
What's funny is that once
you stopped working erratically, and the moment you take a pause from
all that stress, the whole world falls upon you and you feel as if all
the weight of the world shifts upon your shoulders. Then you come to
think that it might even be better to just have something preoccupy you
physically, mentally, than all the unmanaged emotional stress you're
feeling.
I guess once we're engaged in physical and mental work,
our emotional needs tend to be put on hold. unless of course you're
someone who likes a little mix of everything. but I mean, there's also
work that YOU SHOULD DO and work YOU WANNA DO. stuff YOU SHOULD THINK
ABOUT and stuff YOU WANNA THINK ABOUT. emotions YOU SHOULD FEEL and
emotons YOU WANNA FEEL.
and now that all the SHOULD DOs are through, all the WANNA DOs come rushing in and invading our seemingly peaceful state.
Then
you find out, that since you actually can't do your WANNA DOs, you get
more stressed than ever and you try to find something you SHOULD DO to
make you feel as if you're actually a better person because you're
doing something expected of you. But deep inside you know you're
putting on hold something that you really think is more significant and
relevant for your well-being and for the greater good of humanity.
It's
mind-wrecking, you know. Having all that unmanaged stress and all the
SHOULD DOs mixing and making war with your WANNA DOs. But I guess all
we have to do is deal with it. Because sooner or later, we're going to
go EUREKA! and wake up with the solution to all our problems. (Of
course, with a lot more work and stress connected to it).
If you don't get me, you're not stressed enough.

Royalty, 115 blues and things i wanna do!
I finally managed to change my layout to a Princess Jasmine theme! Whee!!! - Thanks to these talented persons for the pics:
- JASMINE___Aladdin_by_rinoatilmitt (the header)
- my_girl_by_shibu (the footer)
I've
always admired Princess Jasmine. She's actually my favorite Disney
princess. I really hate it that there's some kind of discrimination
among the 'colored' and 'non-human' princesses of Disney. You know, the
most exposed are the 'white' princesses (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty
[whose name is Aurora for those who don't know], Cinderella and Belle)
Some of Jasmine and Ariel. What of Pocahontas, Kida? How about Maid
Marian, who is related to royalty? And those who have the right to
stand alongside princesses like Megara? Well, that's the their world, I
guess. Back to Jasmine. A princess who falls in love with a street rat. I can relate. hehe...
just kidding. It's the love conquers all motif and as usual it's almost
flawless to dreamy little girls and hopeless romantics. But wait, she's
not a damsel in dire distress and she can actually kick ass... CooL. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- For
the nth time... yama nade mode.. you just gotta love the nosebleeds and
the gothic themes. kinda emo, but cuter. macabre but with a sweet
twist. it's uber kool. i'm playing Aladdin Nasira's revenge on
PSX and gosh am I really stumped. Well, I'm the most careless and most
erratic of all people when it comes to jumping off roofs and what not..
I guess my fear of heights transcends even the boundaries of digital
imagery. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- I'm trying my hand at drawing again.. It's been years since I last made a decent comic layout. I'm
hoping to start a tamakixharuhi fic... maybe even a
seiranxshuureixryuuki parody... I want to make a barkada fic... I want
to make our own manga/comic. I want to learn to read more kanji. I want
to do all these things. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- little_kraehe
and i got 1.75 on our final paper in Kas 151! And we need not revise
it! WHEEEE!! Gosh, that grade really scared me. It was rumored that our
prof was fond of giving away Incompletes and we were really scared. We
went to school today to get our paper for revision only to be surprised
with a 1.75! I was hoping for a higher grade, but I guess that's fine.
I really hope I don't go below a 1.75 on my final grade.. I'm
more concerned with my 115 grade. It's like, you know you really gave
120% of your whole self to that subject, and it's natural to anticipate
if your efforts paid off. I'm really disappointed with my quizzes and
mid terms.. but oh well.. i'm really hoping I can make at least a 1.5

 Obviously my choice.
(images from the first few episodes)
WAAAAAAAAAIIIIII!!!!!!! RYUUKI-SAMA *tear* *sniff* Ok I am so majorly fangirling here but... waaaaii!! I just finished the subbed version of episode 39.. *sniff* I knew from the raw version.. i knew it won't be that easy.. gah.. I can't wait for the next season... I promise you guys (especially gals) this is such a worthwhile series... *sigh* the manga is so late but it's still one of the best shoujo novels.. (image from episode 39)

I think once you've loved someone, you never stop loving them. You've given them pieces of yourself that eventhough are apart from your physical self, still comprise who you are. The point is you've given it to them and whatever they decide to do with that little piece of you--they might have kept it safe or chucked it out of the window--it continues to be part of you, no amount of love or neglect can change it to become something else other than yourself. That's why you keep on loving them, because you'll always love yourself.
